You might know Peter Facinelli as Dr. Carlisle Cullen in The Twilight Saga: New Moon and The Twilight Saga: Eclipse, but Facinelli is friendly to the entire vampire genre, especially with his latest addition to the iPhone application world - "Vampire Transformer."With the Vampire Transformer app, anyone can transform themself into a vampire with the twitch of the wrist, and Facinelli can be seen doing so in this photograph as well as those featured in the slideshow below.
"It was my way of making something fun for the vampire fans," says Facinelli about the app, "a way for them to make a coven of their own. They can 'bite' their friends in an artistic way and share it. I've become addicted to it, and can't stop 'biting' people. It’s really fun."
Facinelli worked with the company 211me (who also created the Peter Facinelli app as well as the Billy Burke app) to create the application. 211me was co-founded by CEO Rob DeFranco, whose Twitter antics have also brought him into the spotlight.
According to Facinelli, the impetus to bring a vampire application to fruition meant that the "look" of the vampires was to be spread across the genre as well since he "wanted to make the app for all vampire fans." "There are all different types of vampires to choose your look from. Gory vampires, cool vamps, sexy vamps, beautiful ones. Since you can keep adding layers onto your picture, each vampire you create can be different. That’s the fun of it," he says.
The creation of the Vampire Transformer app is yet another instance of Facinelli's progressiveness and über-involvement in the world of modern social networking. In fact, he's been a bit of a pioneer in the field, but Facinelli states that his achievement of having nearly one and a half million followers on Twitter is all for "having fun, connecting with the fans, being able to share information with them, spreading some awareness of charities, or simply putting a smile on their face."
Of course, Facinelli's popularity isn't hindered by his involvement in the Twilight saga, and he says that fans can expect to see much more of him and his Cullen co-stars in The Twilight Saga: Eclipse. According to him, "we are all in the movie throughout." About the success of The Twilight Saga: New Moon, Facinelli says, "The fans continue to surprise us. The fan's response to 'New Moon' has gone beyond any of our wildest expectations." Of course, he can't wait to see what fans will think of Eclipse. "I am excited for them to see the third installment, which happens to be my favorite book."
